Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge will launch their NY Dog Film Festival on Sunday, January 12th! The New York Dog Film Festival is an annual celebration of the love between dogs and their people, through short films from around the world that inspire, educate and entertain, benefiting local animal welfare groups that bring people and pets together.
Visitors can expect to see films like Unexpected, Elvis: The Lonely Hunter of Circle Beach, Dog Power, About a Dog, A Dog’s Life, Imperfect Adventure, and many more. These films are free of physical or verbal abuse toward people or animals. The only tears you might shed would be tears of joy for happy endings. The programs are designed for adult audiences but can be enjoyed by all members of the family, including mature children. The films will last for approximately 120 minutes.
Since starting in 2010, Friends of the Animals has found forever homes for more than 5,500 animals from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area shelters and FASS (Friends of the Animals Alternative to Shelter Surrender) program. Their mission is to rescue, re-home, or otherwise save as many dogs and puppies as possible from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. Prior to the show, witness local pups looking for a home strut their stuff along the Doggy Runway!
Enjoy a feel-good afternoon of adorable dogs and moving stories! Tickets to the Dog Film Fest are $11.00 per person and are available online at www.manshiptheatre.org. All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend performances.
At Creekside Crossing Apartments in Walker, Louisiana, we encourage our residents to discover all the wonderful happenings in our city, whether it’d be a concert, exhibit, or convention. Set aside some time to attend this upcoming event in our area!
